Digital wedding invitations

One wedding invitation, in Ukrainian and in English

Updated

A bilingual wedding invitation is one invitation with two versions, Ukrainian and English. Each guest gets the version in their own language: grandparents in Lviv read the plan of the day in Ukrainian, friends in London or Toronto read it in English, and every RSVP lands in the same Google Sheet.

How does a bilingual wedding invitation work?

Your invitation has one address, such as anna-max.mydayinvites.link; the version in the second language is the same address with /uk or /en at the end. You send each guest the version in their language. The design, the photos, the plan of the day, the places and the RSVP form are the same in both; only the words change.

  • Guests open it with one tap in WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram or an email. No app, no account.
  • Answers from both versions arrive in one Google Sheet shared with you, and an email tells you about each one.
  • Times, dates and places are the same in both. Every text has its own English and Ukrainian wording, so neither version reads like a translation.

Do you need two invitations or one?

One. Premium includes the English and the Ukrainian version of the same invitation for €89. On Basic (€39) the second language is an add-on for €15. You make both versions in the same builder, with the same photos: each text simply has a field for each language.

What should a bilingual invitation say?

The same things in both languages, each written the way a native speaker would say it, not word for word. Keep the names as your guests know them, write the date in full, give the time in the wedding’s time zone, and link every place to the map. Copy the samples below and change them.

Anna and Max invite you to their wedding on Saturday, 12 June 2027, in Lviv.

We would love you to be there. Please reply by 1 May - the RSVP form is at the end of the invitation.

Будемо щасливі бачити вас поруч. Будь ласка, дайте відповідь до 1 травня - форма RSVP в кінці запрошення.

Coming from abroad? The hotel, the airport transfer and the times are all below.

Їдете з-за кордону? Готель, трансфер з аеропорту і весь розклад - нижче.

More samples, from the greeting to the gifts, are in our bilingual wording guide.

What do guests coming from abroad need?

The time and the place in a form they can use from another country. Every place in the invitation opens in Google Maps, and every design has a section for the hotel and one for getting there. In Akoya and Blossom, guests can also add the day to Google Calendar, or to Apple Calendar and Outlook with a calendar file, at the wedding’s own time.

  • Send the invitation 10-12 weeks before the wedding when guests travel; 6-8 weeks is enough for everyone else.
  • A save the date, sent 6-8 months before, gives them time to book flights. It costs €19, in one language or both, and becomes the invitation on the same link.

How much does a bilingual invitation cost?

Premium is €89 with both languages. Basic is €39 for one language, plus €15 for the second. You pay once per wedding, for any number of guests, and only when you publish: making it and seeing it with your names is free.

What other services charge, per guest or per wedding, is in our guide How much does a digital wedding invitation cost.

Can you see it before you pay?

Yes. Type your names on the home page to see the invitation with them, then make the whole thing in the builder: every change shows as you type. You pay when you publish, and the link comes by email in a few minutes, at the latest within 24 hours. Changed your mind before sharing the link? Full refund within 14 days.

Questions and answers

Questions before you order? Write to us or email contact@mydayinvites.com

Will older guests manage?

Yes. The link opens with one tap in WhatsApp, Viber or Telegram, with no app and no account. The RSVP is one short form in their own language.

Can a guest switch languages inside the invitation?

No. There is no switch inside: the two versions are two addresses of the same invitation, and you send each guest the one in their language. If a family reads both, send them both links.

Can the two versions say different things?

Yes. Every text has its own English and Ukrainian wording, so a line can say more in one language than in the other. The times, dates and places are the same in both.

Can we write our names differently in each language?

Yes: Anna and Max in English, Анна і Максим in Ukrainian. Each name has a field for each language.

Which designs come in two languages?

All of them. Akoya, Veil and Blossom each have an English and a Ukrainian version.

Is a third language possible?

Not yet: every design has an English and a Ukrainian version today. If you need another language, write to us.

See it with your names. Pay when you like it.
